Gintara Slavinskas

Gintara started painting at a very young age. Her parents entered a painting she made when she 6 yrs old into a competition in New York.  It won first place.  A very passionate person with clear ambitions to do as she wished.... she decided early that she would always follow her heart and dreams.  Her young powerful spirit found a way to connect to the world
through art and training and competing Dressage horses.  Horses can contain extremely powerful energy and peace at the same moment.  Using color, lines, and subject she can bring the viewer into another place of energy...be it peaceful or even a little fierce.   Her work is dynamic. She uses color and form to express the ethereal in the universe.  Her
preferred means of expression are horses and the human figure. Gintara graduated from Appalachian State University with Honors. She was sought after by many professors who saw her paintings to join the art department. One of the most admired and respected Professors in the Art department adored her paintings and saw her unique style.  His advice to her was to continue within her own style and not take any paintings classes.  He saw her talent and provided immense confidence to her that she has world class style.  His name is Dr. Jim Toub and he taught art in Paris for many years. Gintara took his graduate level seminars and deeply studied the art in which 'To See'. The world around us is in constant
movement and change.  It takes time and desire to really see your life in your own particular original light. Which moment do you wish to catch?  Which moment do you wish express within your painting?  What colors do you see?  What light to you see?  Those are the end questions...but first the artist needs to actually 'see' what they wish to capture... from the inside.

Gintara is a prolific oil painter, having painted over a hundred original oil paintings in her lifetime.  She has sold many private commissioned works. Gintara's vision is unique and her paintings have proven to capture the viewer over time...not a single owner/viewer
claiming age or ‘boredom’ to her work. Her paint strokes are moving, rich with color and all combine to form an image. Just allow yourself to truly look at one of her works in detail and you may see your own pleasure, desire or passion here or there time and time again.

Along side her painting, Gintara rides and trains Dressage horses almost every day.  She competes across the nation with success having recently won the regional and state championships with her own horse Catano. She has high goals of someday riding in the Olympic games.

Gintara donates at least 10% of the profits to reputable, organized charity.
